| BRCA British Junior Grand Prix @ Ashby Woulds MCC Sunday 31st July Under 17 years 19turn Class win for X-RAY FK05 and DEWI JONES Saturday Practice: With an initially wet track on offer to competitors, the opportunity to find a wet set-up in preparation for Sunday's meeting was accepted by a number of competitors. However once the rain had subsided, the track dried in order for both open practice and a timed practice run to be completed. Dewi worked through a number of set-up options determined to maximise the potential of his FK05 at the tricky Ashby track. The final set-up (see link) he settled on gave him much confidence for Sunday's meeting. |

Qualifying Rd 1:
Sunday morning dawned with a cloudy, overcast sky, but thank fully no rain, Setting off from pole position, Dewi settled into a fast rhythm for the opening qualifying round, however, at the end of 5 minutes, and following a couple of self enforced errors, Dewi completed the round in 3 rd position overall, with a time of 19 laps in 313.79 seconds, some 1.23 seconds down on pole sitter Adam Meakin.
Qualifying Round 2:
With no set-up changes, Dewi set off in pursuit of FTD, and with a trouble free 5 minute run, Dewi posted a FTD time of 19 laps in 311.91 seconds, with a fastest individual lap of 15.95 seconds, Adam Meakin remained in 2nd position having failed to improve on his 1st qualifying run time.
Qualifying Round 3:
With the FK05 only requiring a thorough check over, and set-up left as for previous rounds, Dewi commenced the final leg of qualifying confident of further improvement, and by posting a time of 19 laps in 311.37 seconds, Dewi retained FTD and placed himself in a perfect position to capitalise on a fine qualifying performance.

3rd: Dan Fallows 19/312.56
4th: Kyle Tracey 19/312.56 (FK05)

| With new tyres the only change on the car, Dewi shot off from pole position and entered the 1st corner, a slight coming together relegated Dewi to 3rd position briefly, by the start of lap 3, Dewi had re-gained the lead from Adam Meakin, and commenced to open a small lead, however Dewi clipped the kerb under the rostrom and rolled the car, fortunately it landed back on all 4 wheels, relegated again to 3rd position, Dewi set off in pursuit of the leaders once again. Having passed Dan Fallows, Dewi and leader Adam Meakin swapped positions in a frantic duel, with the end of the race imminent, Dewi passed Adam at the start of the straight by the slightest of margins, and crossed the finish line at the end of the lap to claim the victory in round 1. |

Once again Dewi entered the 1st corner in 1st position, but as in Final 1 was involved in a coming together with 3 other cars and exited the corner in 5th position. Adam Meakin sped away to an unassailable lead and drove a controlled race to the flag. Dewi meanwhile set off in pursuit of the cars ahead, by the 3 minute mark, Dewi had moved into 2nd position overall, which Dewi knew was enough to secure the Junior title, opening a 2 second gap to 3rd position Dewi settled to a comfortable, safe pace to the end of the race to secure the overall victory.
